Position: Occupational Therapist - Gippsland

Prarthana has worked as an Occupational Therapist across the Gippsland region of Victoria for nearly two years.

As a student Prarthana worked in disability support, helping children and young adults engage in meaningful everyday activities such as leisure pursuits and arts and crafts. She also supported her clients to participate within the community.

Since then, Prarthana’s experiences include working with a diverse range of clients with a variety of physical and psychological conditions. She has worked within the community, completing assessments to support her adult clients achieve their goals and take part safely in everyday activities.

Prarthana enjoys helping her clients achieve their goals and perform tasks in a variety of ways. She identifies suitable supports and modifications and prescribes assistive technology to enhance independence. Home modifications and providing education of adaptive techniques are further tools she uses to help her clients reach their potential.

Prarthana is focused on supporting her clients to build physical, cognitive and affective capacity so they are able to engage in meaningful self-care, and productive and leisure occupations.

She is excited about her future as an Occupational Therapist with Ability Action Australia, working within the NDIS community.
