During his studies, Shane worked as a volunteer therapy aid alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists. In this role he supported a child with global developmental delay in the areas of posture control, gait, fine motor development, and feeding.

A recent graduate, Shane also undertook several work placements while at university to learn from professionals and develop valuable employability skills.

These placements involved:

• Working in a community mental health facility, running cooking workshops, and undertaking initial assessments for NDIS access
• Providing a variety of services for people who had undergone open-heart surgery at Gold Coast University Hospital, including conducting group education, and initial/functional/performance assessments for discharge planning

Shane enjoys having a positive impact on someone’s journey to improving their quality of life.

He is thrilled to be supporting NDIS participants across the northern region of the Gold Coast.
