Position: Senior Exercise Physiologist - Brisbane

During his exercise physiology career, Stephen has worked in a wide range of settings with people across the lifespan.

Before joining Ability Action Australia, he worked with NDIS participants in private practice, supporting people with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, gender dysphoria and mental health conditions.

Stephen was also employed in hospital and community health settings, helping patients with neurological conditions, chronic disease management and healthy ageing.

At the Department of Defence, he worked with returning Australian Defence Force members who were seriously injured, supporting them with exercise programs to manage amputations, mental health conditions, chronic pain, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Stephen has also developed fitness and wellness programs for detainees in correctional facilities.

A qualified primary school teacher, he spent eight years teaching in Queensland, including two years in a remote indigenous community.

He enjoys learning from NDIS participants, making connections and developing supportive and fun professional relationships. Stephen is excited to be working with participants across Brisbane, providing assessments and tailored exercise programs that empower participants to achieve their goals.
