We’re pleased to share that Ability Action Australia has introduced the School of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), delivered in partnership with MedHealth Academy and the University of Melbourne.
This initiative supports how we continue to deliver consistent, high-quality PBS services for the people and families we work with.
The School of Positive Behaviour Support builds on our existing practitioner development model by introducing more structured, credentialed learning.
It brings together practical experience, supervision and formal training to support practitioners as they develop their capability over time. This ensures our team continues to grow while maintaining a strong focus on quality and consistency in service delivery.
“With a background in research and practice, I know how important it is to develop the capability of the Positive Behaviour Support workforce. By partnering with the University of Melbourne, we’re building on our existing training and continuing to strengthen outcomes for the people we support.” Dr Elli Riley, Clinical Lead – Positive Behaviour Support, Ability Action Australia.
Our partnership with the University of Melbourne
Through our partnership with the University of Melbourne, a globally recognised tertiary institution, we are embedding university-backed micro-credentials into our development pathway. These credentials formally recognise practitioner capability and progression, while strengthening the structure and consistency of our training approach.
For participants and referrers, this means greater confidence that PBS services are delivered by practitioners who are supported through structured training, supervision and recognised learning.
Building on strong foundations
The School of Positive Behaviour Support builds on the strong foundations already in place across Ability Action Australia. It enhances our existing approach to practitioner development, strengthening how we support our team to deliver quality services.
