Bringing NDIS supports to you, wherever you are
At Ability Action Australia, we believe everyone should be able to access the supports they need, no matter where they live. That’s why we offer NDIS telehealth services.
Telehealth is a safe, effective and convenient way to connect with our clinicians and get the support you need from the comfort of your own home.
Whether you live in a regional, remote or metropolitan area, telehealth makes it easier to stay on track with your goals and receive consistent care

What is telehealth?
Telehealth is a way of delivering your regular NDIS supports through secure video calls or, if needed, by phone. It works just like an in-person appointment, but without the travel.
If you’ve ever used FaceTime, Zoom or Teams to chat with family, friends or colleagues, you’ll find telehealth simple and familiar.
All you need is:
- A mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer
- A stable internet connection (or a phone line for telephone sessions)
- A quiet, private space
We’ll guide you through the setup and make sure everything is working smoothly before your first session.
The benefits of NDIS telehealth
Our telehealth service is designed to give you more choice and flexibility. Benefits include:
Improved access to services
especially if you live in rural and regional areas
Reduced travel time and costs
so you can focus on supports that make a difference
Continuity of care
even when face-to-face services are disrupted
Safe, convenient, and comfortable
enjoying access to support in your own environment
More frequent and flexible sessions
supporting faster progress toward your goals
Research shows that telehealth can be just as effective as in-person services (and sometimes even better) for many types of therapy.

What services can I access through telehealth?
You can access a wide range of NDIS telehealth supports, including:
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Pathology
- Positive Behaviour Support
- Psychology
- Physiotherapy
- Exercise Physiology
- Key Worker
- Employment-related Assessment and Counselling
Our clinicians tailor each session to your individual needs, using strategies and tools suited to telehealth. This might include interactive activities, coaching for families and support workers, or a blended model of in-person and telehealth sessions.
Is NDIS telehealth right for me?
Telehealth is suitable for many people, including children, but we’ll always make sure it’s safe and appropriate for your circumstances. Before your first session, your clinician will:
- Understand your goals and support needs
- Assess whether telehealth is the right option
- Recommend the best way to deliver your supports
If a face-to-face or blended approach would work better, we’ll let you know.
A note about your privacy and safety
Ability Action Australia follows strict standards to ensure your privacy is always protected. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and use secure platforms to conduct your sessions.

It’s simple. Once your appointment is booked, you’ll receive an email and/or SMS with a secure link (usually through Microsoft Teams). At the scheduled time, click the link and you’ll be taken to a virtual room where your clinician will meet you. If you’re unsure, our team will walk you through the setup step by step. If you don’t have internet access or a suitable device, appointments can also be conducted by phone.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a way of supporting people with permanent and significant disability. The NDIS is designed to give individuals greater choice and control over when, where and how their funded supports are provided.
