Zoe, Behaviour Support Practitioner

Zoe Nicholson

Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Hobart

Zoe brings a diverse background to her role as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. With a solid foundation as a Provisional Psychologist at UTAS Psychology Clinic, Zoe honed her skills through over 200 hours of clinical placement. Her work spanned across therapy and assessment, engaging with adults, adolescents, and children. She developed her counselling and intervention skills in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), aligning her practice with the APS code of ethics. Zoe also sharpened her proficiency in administering assessments such as the WAIS, WISC, and WIAT, enriching her ability to provide comprehensive support to clients.

Prior to her psychology journey, Zoe worked in the fitness industry as a Membership Services Representative. She also spent two years as a Technical Officer and Pathology Lab Manager at Agriculture Victoria in Plant Pathology. Through her work experience, she has honed her interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

In her current role with Ability Action Australia, Zoe works hard to:

  • Complete relevant assessments
  • Create comprehensive support plans
  • Provide tailored interventions

Zoe says “I love getting to meet new people from a variety of different backgrounds and making a positive contribution to their lives.”

Based in Hobart, Zoe is looking forward to supporting NDIS participants across the greater Hobart region.
