Christina Park

During her clinical education at university, Christina worked with people with a variety of health conditions, including autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, aphasia, dysarthria, cognitive communication disorder and Parkinson’s disease.

These on-the-job placements gave her a chance to apply her theoretical knowledge to the real world and enter the profession with the appropriate skills and training.

Working with children and adults, including those from non English- speaking backgrounds, Christina’s placements involved:

• Administering formal and informal assessments, as well as providing therapy across a range of practice areas (speech, language, voice, stuttering and social communication)
• Running online workshops and developing easy-to-read resources on language stimulation techniques and bilingualism for the wider community

Christina is passionate about empowering individuals living with disability to reach their full communication potential. She supports participants to strive to build on their existing strengths, allowing them to form and maintain meaningful relationships.

Based in western Sydney, she is excited to be starting her career with the team from Ability Action Australia.
