Adrian, Behaviour Support Practitioner

Adrian Nyhuis

Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Hobart

Adrian has a diverse background in counselling, education, and community service, and possesses skills in understanding and supporting individuals with a wide range of needs.

He has provided clinical counselling, supervision, and life coaching services in his role at DNA Life, which he’d held since 2009. In conjunction with this role, Adrian spent the past 8 years with CityLight Church, working in administration, pastoral counselling and teaching. Prior to these roles, Adrian worked in education, spending six years as a lecturer on a casual basis in Social Science and Theology at Tabor College in Hobart.

In his current role with Ability Action Australia, Adrian can:

  • Conduct assessments to understand suitable supports
  • Develop and implement behaviour support plans
  • Help participants gain confidence in advocating for their own needs

Adrian says “people with disability can often view life differently, and I love being able to learn from them. I also enjoy being able to support them so that they can have more value and balance in life.”

Based in Hobart, Adrian is excited to be supporting NDIS participants across the Greater Hobart Region.
