Ability Action Australia

NDIS Therapeutic Supports Provider

Angela Skeggs

Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Hobart

Angela is a Behaviour Support Practitioner with seventeen years of experience in the disability sector.

During that time, Angela provided support to people across the lifespan, with a particular focus on instructing people with both physical and intellectual disabilities in predominantly high school settings.

Angela has also provided support to older people living with dementia. She recognises the value in older people and considers it a privilege to demonstrate the respect that they deserve.

Angela applies the Social Model of Disability to her work, which views the barriers people with disability face as the result of society not accommodating them rather than the individual’s abilities.

“I have loved witnessing the growth of participants from more progressive attitudes adopted that align with the Social Model. I have also remained in the sector because it attracts wonderful staff that are person centered to the core and demonstrate professionalism with warmth.“

Angela is based in Hobart, and supports participants throughout Hobart and its suburbs.
