Ability Action Australia

NDIS Therapeutic Supports Provider

Bridget, Behaviour Support Practitioner

Bridget Knights

Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Gold Coast

Bridget brings a wealth of practical experience to her role with Ability Action Australia. With a background as a Behavioural Therapist, she has provided targeted support to children and youth living with challenges such as autism, ADHD, ODD, SPD, anxiety, and intellectual disabilities. In this capacity, Bridget honed her skills in understanding individual needs and tailoring interventions to promote growth and development.

In her role as a Behaviour Specialist, Bridget provided intensive therapeutic family interventions for children and families at risk, closely connected to child safety initiatives. She primarily worked with high-risk families with children having complex needs, including diagnosed disabilities and trauma. Her responsibilities included:

  • Assessing function
  • Creating safety plans and risk assessments
  • Crafting behaviour support plans

Additionally, she established her own business as a Naturalistic Behavioural Therapist, providing therapeutic support for children and youth, focusing on autism, ADHD, ODD, SPD, anxiety, intellectual disability, trauma-related responses, and various developmental delays. With over five years dedicated to the early years sector, Bridget has also contributed significantly to supporting families and educators in developing their practices and fostering growth.

“Supporting even one person to develop their abilities and strengths means there is one less person lost in the cracks. If I can help one person, they may help another. It might begin a movement of support and help for individuals at risk or living with a disability” says Bridget.

Bridget is looking forward to supporting NDIS participants in the Northern Gold Coast region.
