Clare Evans

Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Queensland

Clare is a compassionate and professional Behaviour Support Practitioner with Ability Action Australia.

Prior to her current role, Clare ran her own Holistic Counselling Practice for over ten years. In her practice, Clare primarily worked with adults facing various mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, and depression. Her approach was deeply rooted in empathy and tailored to individual needs.

Clare recently completed a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours, and her dissertation delved into the experiences of middle-aged adults navigating posttraumatic growth following childhood trauma. She also undertook a role as a Research Assistant at the UniSC Thompson Institute, collaborating with the Clinical Research Unit and the Healthy Brain Ageing Clinic. In her work and studies, Clare is dedicated to understanding the complexities of human resilience and providing relevant support.

In her current role, Clare can provide support by:

  • Conducting assessments to understand suitable supports
  • Developing and implement behaviour support plans
  • Helping participants gain confidence in advocating for their own needs

Clare says “I love empowering people living with disability to make positive life changes”.

Based in North Lakes, Clare is excited to be supporting NDIS participants in the surrounding areas of Caboolture and Moreton Bay.
