Ability Action Australia

NDIS Therapeutic Supports Provider

Diana, Behaviour Support Practitioner

Diana Stouraitis

Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Adelaide

Diana is a seasoned Behaviour Support Practitioner, boasting a rich background in the field. With two years’ experience at the Department of Human Services in the same role, Diana gained further experience in ensuring adherence to NDIS policies and procedures, budgeting clients’ funding, writing supporting letters for change of circumstances submissions, and liaising with external providers. She also provided support for her colleagues, through mentoring and supervising less experienced practitioners, and facilitating training in relevant areas. Diana also is a psychologist, holding a provisional registration.

Prior to this, she also worked for one year as a BSP at the Centre for Positive Behaviour Support. In this role she conducted assessments, and crafted behaviour support plans tailored to individual client needs. Her expertise in overseeing the intervention process, which heavily focuses on stakeholder training and collaboration, has been instrumental in achieving positive outcomes. Diana also previously worked as a Behaviour Therapist at a child psychology clinic, providing therapy primarily to children with ASD aged 2 to 6 years old. Her duties focused on early intervention to develop skills relating to self-care, social skills, speech, gross and oral motor skills, and many more.

Diana says “supporting people with disabilities is a deeply rewarding experience for me. Their resilience, determination, and unwavering positivity in the face of challenges is deeply motivating. The relationships built through this support are filled with mutual respect, understanding, and genuine appreciation for one another”.

Diana is looking forward to utilising her expertise in her role with Ability Action Australia, and supporting NDIS participants across metropolitan Adelaide.
