Ability Action Australia

NDIS Therapeutic Supports Provider

Kate (Ji Young), Behaviour Support Practitioner

Kate (Ji Young) Kim

Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Melbourne

Kate brings a wealth of expertise to her role as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Ability Action Australia. Over the past year, Kate worked as a community support worker, providing support to adults living with mental health challenges. In this capacity, she helped her clients in developing essential life skills, maintaining relationships, and provided support in daily activities so the clients could access and be actively involved in their communities.

Prior to this she worked as a behaviour therapist for two years, where she supported children and adolescents living with disability, and tailored strategies to support the unique needs. Her interventions focused on teaching new skills, and developing ways of managing challenging behaviours in order to enhance their overall wellbeing.

In her role with Ability Action Australia, Kate is responsible for:

  • Creating personalised treatment plans for clients
  • Providing clients with strategies to manage their behaviour
  • Engaging with the clients support network

Kate says “I feel a great sense of achievement when I witness my clients achieve their goals and aspirations in various domains through our support and encouragement.”

Kate is looking forward to supporting NDIS participants across South East Melbourne.
