Position: Occupational Therapist - Geelong

Kirstyn is a dedicated Occupational Therapist with two years of experience at Ability Action Australia, where she began her journey as a New Graduate clinician in 2023. Having discovered her passion for working with children during her final year OT placement in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in regional Victoria, Kirstyn has since focused her expertise on paediatrics. She has experience working with young people living with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and cerebral palsy.

Within AAA, Kirstyn plays a pivotal role in supporting young people with disabilities, emphasising an approach that involves collaborating closely with parents, caregivers, and families. Her commitment extends beyond individual therapy sessions, as she strives to empower families to create environments where children can thrive. She has completed further education in sensory integration, emotional regulation, and trauma informed paediatric care.

In her role, Kirstyn can offer support through providing:

  • Functional capacity assessments
  • Supported living assessments
  • Assistive technology assessments

“I love working with families and young people to help them thrive as individuals and families. I enjoy working with people with disabilities to help show them (and then the world) their incredible gifts” says Kirstyn.
