Lara, Senior Key Worker

Position: Senior Key Worker - Sydney

A senior key worker with a wealth of experience working with children of all ages, Lara is passionate to be making a difference in the lives of NDIS participants with Ability Action Australia.

She has 28 years’ experience in the early childhood field, teaching in private schools, along with Department of Education preschools. She has supported children with mild-moderate disability. She has worked as a TAFE teacher in children’s services and as a casual primary school teacher.

Lara has extensive experience in the NDIS space, having spent many years working as a senior key worker supporting children between the ages of 0-7. She has worked with children with various disabilities, including global development delay, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, cerebral palsy and more.

Throughout her career, Lara has gained vital skills and experience that she can use to support participants with Ability Action Australia. Some of her experience includes:

  • Mentoring a team of key workers
  • Supporting therapy planning and clinical experience
  • Preparing and delivering presentations for early intervention

“I love supporting families to understand their child’s strengths and challenges, whilst supporting them to navigate the orientation to school smoothly,” she says.

Lara is excited to be supporting NDIS participants in Camden, Wollondilly and Macarthur.
