Ability Action Australia

NDIS Therapeutic Supports Provider

Lauren, Occupational Therapist

Lauren Hart

Position: Occupational Therapist - Melbourne

Lauren is an Occupational Therapist with two years’ clinical experience. She has predominantly worked in the paediatric field to support fine and gross motor skills and sensory and emotional regulation.

During her time at university, she worked as a Disability Support Worker, where she enabled participants to enjoy greater access to their communities. In this role, she provided personal care, transport and community access, administered medications, and assisted with medical appointments, while also supporting mobility through aids like wheelchairs.

In her role with Ability Action Australia, Lauren works with participants and their families to maximise their independence. She can support individuals living with:

  • Physical disability
  • Psychosocial disability
  • Sensory and cognitive disability

Passionate about supporting children, Lauren completed a Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Child Play. This gave her an introduction into the therapeutic powers of play and helped develop specialised skills that allow her to work effectively with children.

“I love being able to empower individuals to recognise their potential. It’s rewarding watching participants live their life to the fullest,” she says.

Lauren is excited to be supporting NDIS participants in Geelong.
