Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Victoria

Mikhaela brings a wealth of experience in education and NDIS support coordination. As a former teacher, Mikhaela worked with a diverse range of children including those with autism, intellectual disabilities, and challenging behaviours. She collaborated closely with occupational therapists and speech pathologists, and played a key role in developing and implementing individual learning plans, aligning them with therapist recommendations. In particular, she has experience creating bespoke plans for children with additional needs, Indigenous backgrounds, or those in out-of-home care.

As an NDIS support coordinator, Mikhaela managed a range of cases for individuals across all ages, and with varying disabilities. Her expertise extended to guiding participants on effective utilisation of their NDIS plans to achieve their goals, and ensure their needs were met if they changed. Mikhaela worked seamlessly with allied health professionals, psychologists, social workers, and external services to provide comprehensive support to her clients.

In her role with at Ability Action Australia, Mikhaela can provide services such as:

  • Creating interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans
  • Conducting functional behaviour assessments
  • Provide regular skill-building intervention

Mikhaela says “I love seeing people work towards their goals, achieve them, and being a part of that process.”

She is supporting NDIS participants across South East Melbourne.
