Ability Action Australia

NDIS Therapeutic Supports Provider

Mitchell, Exercise Physiologist

Mitchell Lakey

Position: Exercise Physiologist - Melbourne

Mitchell is an exercise physiologist with a passion for working within the community and supporting NDIS participants. A recent graduate, Mitchell is eager to use his skills to make a difference in the lives of NDIS participants with Ability Action Australia.

He decided to pursue a career as an exercise physiologist during his post-graduate studies, initially becoming a group fitness instructor and personal trainer at Body Fit Training. Mitchell continued to develop by taking part in multiple industry placements.

At Ability Action Australia, Mitchell works closely with clients to help treat and manage specific conditions, as well as chronic diseases and medical conditions. He educates participants on their condition and teaches them how to manage and improve their lives.

Along with providing them with customised exercise programs and giving clients the tools to self-manage their condition, Mitchell can also support participants with individual rehabilitation sessions in clinical, community and gym-based settings.

Mitchell works hard to ensure clients:

  • Improve their mobility and physical function
  • Reduce any pain they may be experiencing
  • Enjoy greater independence and achieve their goals

“I love working with people with disability and helping them overcome the diverse range of challenges they may be facing. It’s rewarding to be able to play a part in improving their quality of life,” he says.

He is thrilled to be supporting participants across Melbourne.
