Opal Francis

Position: Occupational Therapist - North Lakes

Opal is an Occupational Therapist who has completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy with Honours, and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Mental Health and Neuroscience.

Prior to joining Ability Action Australia, Opal worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the stroke and rehabilitation ward of Prince Charles Hospital, as well as in the mental health sector in community and inpatient care settings.

During this time, she gained experience supporting a diverse range of participants including adolescents, children, and adults, as well as the LGBTQIA+ community with:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Muscular Dystrophy and Cerebral Palsy
  • Psychosocial disability
  • Schizophrenia
  • Anxiety and Major Depressive Disorder

Opal enjoys “supporting people to feel confident in themselves and achieve what is important to them.”

She is based in North Lakes, and supports NDIS participants throughout the Moreton Bay area.
