NDIS Therapeutic Supports Provider

Rachel Slabbert

Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Brisbane

Rachel is passionate about supporting clients to achieve their goals and live their best possible lives.

During her two years as a Disability Support Worker, Rachel predominantly worked with NDIS participants who had intellectual and/or cognitive impairments. This gave her diverse experience in supporting people to achieve their personal goals, such as improving their social, emotional, practical and daily living skills.

Rachel has also worked as a Crisis Intervention Counsellor in the Domestic Violence sector for two years. This gave her extensive experience in risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention. Through this work, she increased the safety of many clients who were experiencing high and immediate levels of risk.

While completing the placement component of her Social Work degree, Rachel worked at a primary school, building rapport and providing learning and wellbeing support services to students. This also involved developing, evaluating and adjusting behaviour support strategies for students as part of a multidisciplinary team.

More recently, Rachel has worked at an Alcohol and Drug (AOD) Rehabilitation service for women, providing AOD dependency recovery support. In this work, Rachel was exposed to case work and group therapy facilitation.

Rachel is available to support participants in the greater Brisbane metropolitan region.
