Sharee Shoben

Position: Senior Occupational Therapist - Queensland

Sharee brings a wealth of diverse experience to her role as a Senior Occupational Therapist at Ability Action Australia. With a background spanning various sectors, including aged care, occupational rehabilitation, working with guide dogs and blind and low vision individuals, Sharee has honed her skills in providing comprehensive therapy and assessments tailored to individual needs.

Over the past four years, Sharee has worked with adults in community rehabilitation, primarily focusing on home modifications, complex assistive technology prescription, and assessments for Supported Independent Living and Specialist Disability Accommodation.

Her expertise extends to conducting functional assessments and working with clients facing a spectrum of physical and mental health challenges, including individuals living with multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, intellectual impairments, autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and amputees.

In her current role, Sharee can offer support by:

  • Completing assessments to understand participants’ needs
  • Prescribing relevant assistive technologies
  • Prescribing relevant home modifications

Sharee says “I love that I get to work with a diverse range of people, and get to be a part of their journey. It’s rewarding helping people reach their goals”.

Based in Helensvale, she will be supporting NDIS participants in the surrounding areas of Kyogle, Lismore, Casino, Nimbin and Ballina.
