NDIS Therapeutic Supports Provider

Yasmin, Behaviour Support Practitioner

Yasmin Alsamirae

Position: Behaviour Support Practitioner - Wollongong

Yasmin brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate approach to her role as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. In her previous role as a NDIS specialist worker, Yasmin adeptly supported individuals with physical disabilities like cerebral palsy and quadriplegia, as well as mental health conditions including schizophrenia, clinical depression, and bipolar disorder 2. Her approach was underpinned by thorough biopsychosocial assessments, that informed the therapeutic approach that would be delivered by a multidisciplinary team.

In her role as a Project Manager for the ISLHD clinical governance team, Yasmin collaborated closely with healthcare professionals to improve the uptake of patient-reported measures (PRMs) and foster a culture of wellbeing among hospital and clinical staff to mitigate burnout.

During her time as a Social Worker and Case Manager for refugee groups, Yasmin provided invaluable assistance to refugees spanning a wide age range, facilitating access to essential services while addressing the complex trauma endured before arriving in Australia. In her current role, Yasmin can provide support by:

  • Conducting assessments to understand suitable supports
  • Developing and implementing behaviour support plans
  • Creating tailored interventions

When it comes to supporting people with disability, Yasmin loves “understanding the different levels of their vulnerability and nurturing their strengths to seek more of what life has to offer as well as show the world how beautiful and special they are”.

Based in Wollongong, Yasmin is excited to be supporting participants in Illawarra Shoalhaven.
