Ability Action Australia

NDIS Therapeutic Supports Provider

Behaviours of concern can significantly impact the lives of participants and their families, but understanding the reasons behind these behaviours can be the key to finding the support that you need. At Ability Action Australia, we offer Behaviour Needs Assessments to help participants uncover the causes of their behaviours and access tailored supports that foster independence and enhance wellbeing.

Our skilled practitioners are here to ensure participants receive the right supports to meet their needs. A Behaviour Needs Assessment offers:

  • An evidence-based report that recommends the inclusion of Positive Behaviour Support in the participant’s NDIS Plan, or
  • Detailed feedback from the assessing practitioner on alternative supports or strategies, if Positive Behaviour Support is not required.

Our goal is to empower you by recommending supports that foster independence and enhance wellbeing.

Who can access a Behaviour Needs Assessment?

A Behaviour Needs Assessment might be appropriate for a participant when:

  • There has been a change in the frequency and severity of their behaviour.
  • They have recently presented with new or previously unidentified behaviours of concern.
  • Strategies previously used to address behaviours of concern are no longer effective.
  • There is concern that restrictive practices may be in use.
  • Previously there was no identified need, but behaviour support may now be beneficial.

The assessment is available only when the participant does not already have improved relationships or behaviour support funding in their NDIS Plan, and improved daily living funding is available.

If you or someone you care about is experiencing behaviours of concern, a Behaviour Needs Assessment could help you in accessing the support you need. Let’s get started today! Contact our friendly Concierge team at hello@abilityactionaustralia.com.au or 1800 238 958.
